About

In 2017 I decided to make the study of drawing and painting a priority in my life. I wanted to spend time creating my own work rather than simply looking at art. What I’ve discovered is that I’ve never looked more intently at my own world or at the artwork of others than I do right now.

I am fascinated by the light, colors, values, and reflections in both landscapes and still life arrangements. Nothing is more challenging and entertaining for me than to figure out how to relay the 3-dimensional world onto a 2-dimensional surface.

Painting has become my passion and I’m grateful for my husband and family who support me in it. It is a wonderful way to engage with the world as well as, when necessary, retreat from it.

“The object isn’t to make art, it’s to be in that wonderful state which makes art inevitable” - Robert Henri
